You asked on this episode to hear from people who have a lot of body fat to lose.

I started listening to you guys several months ago when I began my fitness journey. I’m 52 years old and 5’ 5”. At 175 lbs. I’m guessing I had about 55 lbs. to lose. I’ve lost 30 lbs. so far by cycling on and off a 1500 calorie Keto diet (mostly on) - tracking calories and macros. Loved Sal’s walk through of intuitive eating. I’m working towards that now. Some days I don’t enter food until the end of the day but I just know that I’m on track for the day. But tracking is so satisfying in its certainty that I’m hesitant to give it up until I’ve reached my goals and maintained for a while.

I am currently ruminating (ha ha -go look it up on google) on strength training. It’s not that I don’t believe that I need it. It’s just that I’ve come from a place of being so out of shape that I feel like I need flexibility and body weight exercises more so ive been doing a Pilates/yoga mix. I also walk my dog everyday for about an hour which has been so good for both the dog and me. He’s 12 so we aren’t power walking - just 16 minute miles with a potty break here and there.

I love listening to your podcast. I don’t think I’m you’re average listener - getting into shape 50-something woman who works at a church (Kids Creative Minister). You guys are real and funny and I trust that you know your stuff.

Thanks for all that you do. I think of you guys as the smartass younger boys from my neighborhood that grew up to be smarter and kinder than you were as kids but still as hilarious.

    Rock on,

    Julie

PS I have a favorite but it changes from week to week. So keep your game up individually to make it to Julie’s fave of the week!
